It seems that it was made during the real beauty campaign. The techniques they used in making this poster are emphasis, proximity, organization, contrast, and other techniques on the text. They also used center of interest on the picture. These were used to catch the attention of the audience by asking questions and focusing on the picture of the woman. The target audience are women who are conscious about their body figure. Thus, every woman will get benefit from this message. Although, there will be women who will get harm from the poster. They are the women who are being portrayed in the poster.
They used the fat woman to make us think that, most of the time, people are conscious of their size while appreciating their beauty. Thus, giving an idea to people that being slim is better. However, other people might also think that confidence makes a person beautiful.
This matters to us because it reminds us that beauty does not comes from the shape of our body or our physical appearances.
